SmartMetersMurder

Lots happening on the smart meter front, so let’s get right to it.

The big news is that the much anticipated BioInitiative 2012 report has come out.

It’s an updated report on the biological effects of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and radio/microwave frequency radiation (RFR), such as that emitted by smart meters. The damaging report is extremely compelling in its evidence against smart meters and other wireless technologies.
The report was prepared by 29 authors from ten different countries, including ten MDs and 21 PhDs. The research-based report shows that biological effects occur with very low exposure levels to EMFs and RFR. This includes non-thermal levels of exposure shown to clearly cause effects in human functioning. The authors state:
The stakes are very high. Human beings are bioelectrical systems. Our hearts and brains are regulated by internal bioelectrical signals. Environmental exposures to artificial EMFs can interact with fundamental biological processes in the human body. There is more evidence than we need. The last five years worth of new scientific studies tell us the situation is much worse than in 2007 and yet people around the world have so much more exposure than even five years ago.
They specifically address smart meters and say: “Bioeffects can occur from just minutes of exposure to cell towers, WiFi, and wireless utility ‘smart’ meters that produce whole-body exposure.” Clearly the government is not looking out for us by supporting smart meter and smart grid technologies that have been shown to compromise our health. Other news of interest:

  • A damaging report published by the National Institute for Science Law and Public Policy (NISLPP), called Getting Smarter About the Smart Grid, came out in November. It states that smart grid federal funding has been misspent on obsolete technologies using taxpayer and ratepayer dollars, and that these technologies—in particular the ‘smart meter’—will not lead to sustainability, as many state, local and federal government officials have been led to believe.
  • The leading health website of Dr. Mercola picked up on the NISLPP report and expanded it with video, audio and indepth coverage of the major problematic areas of the smart grid. Please check it out:

  • The Italian Supreme Court ruled in favor of a worker’s compensation claim filed by a man who used cell phones and later developed a brain tumor. This is the first time a court has ruled in favor of a link between wireless devices and detrimental health effects. This is huge! It may set an important legal precedent and open a floodgate of lawsuits. Time will tell. In the meantime, it provides more evidence against prolific use of wireless devices, including smart meters.
  • Elsewhere in Europe, a Dutch court turned down a cell tower permit out of concern for bees. Research in Germany and Switzerland was used to show the negative effects of electromagnetic radiation on bees. Remember, more smart meters equals more cell towers.
  • In Canada, on behalf of Energy Strategies and the Quebec Association to Fight Air Pollution, Dr. David Carpenter filed an expert report before the Quebec Energy Board. It’s titled: The State of Scientific Research as to Whether Advanced Meters Transmitting by Radiofrequencies May Constitute a Risk of Serious or Irreversible Damage to Health. The report includes compelling evidence against smart meters.
  • Last, but certainly not least, a new eye-opening film, Resonance: Beings of Frequency, what I would say is the most important documentary of our time, is available on YouTube. It examines 60 years of scientific research and lays out the hazards of RFR very clearly.
